- Only use the oven, stove or heated appliances with the OK or supervision of an adult.
- Turn pot handles toward the wall where they cannot be bumped
- Do not leave a spoon in a hot pot
- Use thick dry over mitts or pot holders when handling anything you think could be hot and keep them stored away from any heat source.
- Have a safe, heat-resistant place handy to set your hot pot after removing it from the heat
- Open pot lids slowly, carefully and away from your body so steam can't scald you
- Only use microwave-safe equipment in the microwave oven
- Turn off the stove when you are finished
